There are many good deeds a church community can do throughout the year. In a normal year, church events and community deeds are the subject for discussion and deliberation by various church committees. There are details. These things take time…

Things are different now. Unemployment, fear, and hunger are stark realities in our community. What once seemed a major undertaking for a little church is now more easily accomplished. Ideas for doing good works in our community are happening overnight. Not because we should. But because we can. Making calls, setting up virtual church services, bringing food, and the delivery of The Little Food Shelf.

Remember the book, The Little Engine that Could? There are so many lessons one can learn from this book – perseverance, commitment, optimism – to name a few. The Little Food Shelf is not unlike that train, however small, proving that great things happen when you think you can. And you do.
