Rev. Dr. Ed Sunday-Winters

Pastor
E-mail Rev. Dr. Ed Sunday-Winters

Ed serves as our pastor. He brings a love for people and a concern for justice to his role as our spiritual leader. For him, Greensboro United Church of Christ is an opportunity to join with the people of God, and with a God who is still speaking, to do mercy, love kindness, and humbly share the love of Christ with all people, no matter who they are or where they are on life’s journey.

He and his wife, Patti, were married in 1987. They have two adult sons, Josh and Will.

Hal Parker

Music Director

Hal came to GUCC in March of 2010 as our music director. He provides direction for the choir as well as organ, piano, harpsichord, vocal and flute music for our services. His musical education includes Westminster Choir College, where he studied with Dr. Joseph Flummerelt and was chosen as artist in residence with the Westminster Choir at the Spoleto Festival in Spoleto, Italy. He comes to sacred music as a family tradition; his great-grandfather would lead the Sunday dinner grace with a hymn sung in four-part harmony. Hal’s mother was choir director for 35 years at the Johnson United Church of Christ. He writes the “Music Corner” column in our monthly church newsletter. Hal will always mention “Serving God through Music” as his inspiration for sacred music.

He lives in Glover and loves living on the shores of Daniel’s Pond.
