For several years now, my husband and I have volunteered at a food distribution site in Cabot run by Faith in Action which they call “Foodshare”.  Before the pandemic, 120-140 individuals and families participated.  The pandemic changed that.  By the end of the summer of 2020, the number of families gradually crept up: 160, 180, 210, and a high during the winter months of 220.  The volunteers worked together following pandemic guidelines throughout this period.  Being part of feeding our neighbors during this difficult period has been immensely gratifying.  The feeling of connectedness and purpose within our volunteer community increased.  We refer to ourselves as family…and we are. This good cause was a perfect match for us.
