Trustees are responsible for managing our physical properties and the fiscal well-being of the church. They keep us safe, sustainable, and sound in our expenses and investments. Trustees include the Properties Committee, overseeing the parsonage and the entire church building. Trustees also oversee the Investment, Pleasants Fund, and Scholarship Committees.

The work of the Trustees is quite varied and often performed in the background. Here are a few examples of how the Trustees managed important tasks this past year:

  • Continued to review and look for opportunities to be more energy efficient with a goal toward climate justice.
  • Distributed more of the smaller, periodic tasks to a group of volunteers and set up an online calendar to notify and track this work. This was very effective!
  • Secured new equipment for the ongoing live streaming of the Sunday service. Thank you, Kyle Gray for continuing to upgrade and streamline our viewing experience!
  • Replaced floors and added more insulation and sealing in the ceiling of Fellowship Hall.
  • Made necessary improvements to the Parsonage.
  • Painted the remaining exterior trim on the church building, repaired rotted exterior boards near the ramp on the north.
  • Conducted the first digital stewardship campaign to provide more opportunities for people to support the church’s work. Thank you, Jess and Janet, for all your help!

The Trustees extend their gratitude to the many volunteers who keep the kitchen organized and tidy, check smoke alarms and emergency lights, maintain the humidifiers in the winter months, and so many other tasks.
