On Sunday, February 25th, Ed and Patti Sunday-Winters become members of the Greensboro United Church of Christ. The officiating pastor, Jeff Pierpont, led the new members and the congregation in the ceremony, along with Deacon Trish Alley.
Once presented with handshakes, hugs, and a happy applause, Ed and Patti each received a certificate and a red rose. And as with most joyful celebrations at our church, there was cake and coffee hour to follow.
Being a member of a local church has been something that has been an important part of my life ever since my early adolescent years. I am especially excited about being a member of Greensboro United Church of Christ. I love the way this church turns the teachings of Jesus into acts of kindness, mercy and compassion.
