Deacons are thoughtful, creative, hands-on folks who ensure our varied church experiences are organized and fulfilled in ways that make us all feel welcome and comfortable.

The Deacons brought the entire community into a beautiful service for Judy Dales and her family.

Even when we weren’t fully open for in-person worship, Deacons performed their many works of service – to our worship experience, traditions, and celebrations. Including:

  • Adapting worship to meet COVID challenges.
  • Working with others to expand our hospitality through music, art, and food.
  • Facilitating holy day celebrations – Christmas to Easter and everything in between!
  • Hosting book discussions to stimulate thinking and share perspectives.
  • Making the Village Treat or Treat Trail another great success.
  • Marking special observances – Hosting the funeral reception for our beloved Judy Dales, flying the Ukrainian flag, hanging Christmas wreaths, assisting with the outdoor art show, offering pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, and bringing turkeys to local Lakeview families for Thanksgiving.
  • Welcoming newcomers and helping those in need.
