When we seek the peace of God, both in the world and in ourselves, we need to be prepared for a certain amount of inner and outer turmoil.
But Isaiah shows us another way, a way that holds fast to hope. Isaiah was able to speak his word of hope to his people because he continued to have faith in God’s care for us and to look toward the best in humankind.
Put your worries into prayer, make your requests known to God, and do so with thanksgiving. This is what will help us to find the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.
Jesus teaches that God intends us to live in relationships of justice and peace.
We too can experience this impact— redeeming our past, transforming our present, and redirecting the future — through the strength that we have, in this congregation, to give and to receive blessing, in song, prayer, silence, word, touch, presence
